Tourism is Fiji's fastest growing industry in terms of employment creation and foreign exchange earnings. The industry provides employment directly and indirectly to an estimated 45,000 people. The tourism industry is mainly private sector driven and contributes approximately 25% to the GDP.
In 2004 over 500,000 visitors arrived in the country and this figure is expected to increase in 2005.
All major credit cards are widely accepted and ATM machines are available in Fiji.
