I wish to visit Fiji and would like to know whether I need to apply for a visitors visa.
If you are a citizen of a visa exempted country, you do not need to apply for a visa before arrival, others do. Click on Forms then visa guidelines.

I am from a visa-exempted country and wish to know how long I will be allowed to stay in Fiji.
Visitors from Visa exempted countries who are on holiday are usually granted visitor visas up to (four months) if they mention to Border Control Officers that they are staying for more than 14 days and they have ticked the arrival card accordingly. However 14 day visitor visas are often issued to visitors who intend to do business i.e. meetings, short term visits etc.

I am traveling to Fiji by plane and departing by yacht. What do I need to produce as proof of outward travel?
You will need to send us confirmation on official letterhead from the captain/owner of the vessel that you will be departing Fiji aboard his/her vessel, a certified copy of your passport and proposed travel dates. Once we receive the documentation from you we will seek approval from Fiji Immigration for you to travel to Fiji.

How can I obtain a Certificate of Identity to travel?
Certificate of Identity is only issued to Fiji nationals for emergency cases e.g. a death of a family member. It can be used one-way only to Fiji. Whilst in Fiji you will need to apply and obtain a new passport to travel out of Fiji. Please see information on page 8 of this website.

If I was born in New Zealand, how can I travel on a one-way ticket to Fiji if my parents are citizens of Fiji?
You need clearance from the Immigration office in Fiji by sending a letter providing details of the request, letter from parents declaring the approval of travel, birth certificate, itinerary, and accommodation in Fiji.

What do I complete for number 15 and 18 on the passport form?
No. 15 - Sign both spaces and place left thumb print No. 18 - Witness has to be the same person witnessing one passport size photo

What is the legal drinking age in Fiji?
Eighteen (18) years and over.

What food can I take into Fiji?
No plant, plant products, animals or animal products are allowed into Fiji unless prior approval is obtained from the Ministry of Agriculture, Sugar & Land Resettlement. Any importation shall be subject to conditions specified in the permit; otherwise the produce will not be allowed into the country. Food items are taken at the owner's risk and must be declared at Customs on arrival.

Can I travel on a "Traveling Document" or "Certificate of Identity" to Fiji?
You need to seek clearance from the Immigration office in Fiji

Does Fiji allow dual Citizenship?
No. Fiji does not allow dual citizenship. Children born to Fiji Citizens may be registered as a Fiji Citizen and apply for a Fiji Passport. However on attaining the age of 21 years they will be required to renounce one of the Citizenships.

Can I apply for a Work Permit whilst on holiday in Fiji?

Are electricity outlets in Fiji similar to New Zealand outlets.
Yes. The electrical current in Fiji is 240 volts AC 50 Hz. Fiji has three pin power outlets identical to Australia and New Zealand. Leading hotels and resorts offer universal outlets for 240v or 110v shavers, hair dryers, etc.
